All of our staff at Clandestine Bird are involved in one way or another with the conservation of our environment and sustainable development, whether it be in the fields of tourism, investigation, exploration, science, consulting, law, architecture and design. Each of them in their own way and through the projects they are involved in contribute to the progress towards a more sustainable and healthy future.
 
 
 

Manuel Sánchez is a freelance bird watching guide. His line of work is Conservation and Sustainable Development; he has worked with national and international organisations as a consultant and technician. Manuel has travel within South America helping training processes in ornithology and bird watching tourism. Birding is a fundamental part of his work; he has given various courses and workshops in bird identification. He has also helped investigations and research as a field assistant and has made new registers of distribution of birds in Ecuador. Some of his recorded bird vocalisations can be found in xeno-canto

Eileen Hall was born in Quito and currently doing a Diploma in Art & Architecture at the Edinburgh College of Art. Apart from being a designer she is also a keen photographer with several of her photographs featuring in our gallery. She designed our web page and is our official translator. Eileen is also managing the work of her late father Stan Hall (architect of the 1976 Tayos Cave Expedition) focusing attention in Ecuador as the cradle of American Civilization www.goldlibrary.com. She is in the process of designing an online museum for a collection of pre-Columbian pieces with the purpose of disseminating our culture. She has been interviewed by the History Channel and can also be found translating her father’s books into Spanish.

Juan C. Sánchez is Clandestine Bird’s official photographer. Most of the photos in our gallery have been taken by him during many of his field trips, armed with his Fuji S9000 and now a Canon 450D, plus his vision of nature and concept of photography, he has managed to take many spectacular photographs of birds, landscapes and wildlife. He studied Environmental Biology and specialised in Amphibians and Reptiles, he is currently doing his dissertation in the Southern Amazon in Ecuador. Juan Carlos is part of technical teams that carry out environmental studies and has helped processes of field investigation where he has registered new species of frogs for science.

Oscar Sánchez has a Doctorate in Law, specialising in Environmental Law. He has worked in analysis for natural resource management and supports processes of environmental conservation. Oscar believes that in order to change and improve Conservation politics in Ecuador, you should preferably be linked to governmental organisations that must protect the environment and its people, that is why he supports Clandestine Bird and is also a member of political organisations which are currently trying to get the government to respect democracy and the rights of nature.
